Ray: Hal Jordan has spent the last two years in space, rebuilding the Green Lantern Corps, and just as things were settling down, another bomb was dropped on him – a cosmic prophecy, with him at the center. He’s back on Earth and needs to clear his head, so he seeks out the one person he can always count on straight talk from – Oliver Queen. The two, famously, went on a road trip together that reshaped both their worldviews (well, maybe Hal’s more than Ollie’s), and they’re basically brothers now, albeit brothers that are never more than a minute away from insulting each other. When Hal arrives in Hub City, it’s just in time – Ollie has jumped out of a building after trying to expose the conspiracy behind a new shadowy corporation pricing people out of their homes. He found the proof he was looking for, but he also found killer robots looking to ensure he never gets to spread that truth.

This being DC Comics, of course, it wouldn’t do for this to simply be a shady corporate doing. Instead, “Omega Corp” lives up to its name, being tied directly into the larger battle with Darkseid that’s ongoing. It turns out that someone sees a profit in the end of the world, and has begun prepping for a bunker for those who want to survive Darkseid’s invasion. This bunker, of course, will be protected by deadly robots, and that leads to some hilarious dialogue about Ollie’s longstanding dislike for these killer androids. Overall, the plot of this issue isn’t quite as good as the ongoing stories in Adams’ run, but it’s made up for by the fact that these two are just so much fun to watch play off each other. For all their snark, they do have a really strong bond and Ollie is able to make Hal see some things more clearly. Of course, for deeper answers, he needs more help – from someone he’s not looking forward to seeing.
