‘Animal Crossing’ Crocs Collection Available August 26

While there’s still no news regarding a Switch 2 sequel to the massively successful New Horizons, Animal Crossing fans aren’t totally left out in the cold thanks to a brand-new shoe release celebrating everyone’s favorite Nintendo social sim.

This Tuesday, casual footwear juggernaut Crocs will make available a collection showcasing the series’ beloved environments and animal neighbors. This Crocs x Animal Crossing collab includes three new Jibbitz shoe charms featuring Rosie the cat, Bunnie the rabbit, and Marshal the surly squirrel, each priced at $4.99. If your favorite critter didn’t make the cut, don’t fret; you can also cop two exclusive Animal Crossing Jibbitz five-packs to dress up your Crocs.

10 amazing new Jibbitz, ripe for the picking.

The Animal Crossing Collector 5 Pack includes Blathers, Celeste, and Pascal, as well as a scallop and the iconic fossil. The Animal Crossing Creator 5 Pack similarly boasts all the Able sisters—Mabel, Sable, and Label—alongside a diminutive t-shirt and backpack. These sets are priced $19.99 each.

Since, for some, accessorizing with new Jibbitz simply isn’t enough, the pièce de résistance is two pairs of Animal Crossing-themed Crocs clogs!

The Animal Crossing Platform Clog and Kids’ Animal Crossing Classic Clog both feature the characteristic AC green forest motif nicely complemented by a sandy-colored binding stripe (to represent the shoreline) with ocean waves printed on the sole. You also get a touch of the sky, complete with a visible gift balloon, on the pivoting heel strap, not to mention an adorable Tom Nook-themed strap button.

The Tom Nook strap button is a nice touch.

The adult platforms include seven exclusive Jibbitsz of their own: Tom, Timmy, and Tommy Nook, K.K. Slider, Isabelle, a bell bag, a fruit tree, and a spectacular 3D home. The kids’ classic design has the same seven items as flat, non-removable Jibbitz that, while certainly not as impressive, still capture the style and whimsy of Animal Crossing.

The adult Animal Crossing Platform Clog is available in women’s sizes 4-11 (just subtract 2 to get the corresponding men’s size) and is priced at $84.99. The Kids’ Animal Crossing Classic Clog comes in $30 cheaper at $54.99.

Here are the removable Jibbitz (top) vs. their flatter, non-removable counterparts (bottom).

My family was provided with a pair of each, and we found them to be just as comfortable and well-made as the other Crocs clogs in our respective collections.

The only drawback with this collab is for adult fans who aren’t fond of the chunkier platform-style clog, but, at least for some, there is another option. The Kids’ Animal Crossing Classic Clog is available in sizes C11-C13 and J1-J6. The “C,” obviously, denotes children’s sizes, while the “J” in the latter group indicates “juniors” sizing, meaning they are designed for older kids and younger teens.

Why does that matter?

AC Crocs sizing
This is the kids’ Classic Clog (size J6) on foot, next to the adult-sized Platform Clog (women’s 8/men’s 6).

Well, numerically, these roughly correspond to standard men’s sizing. This means that a J4 is the equivalent of a men’s size 4/women’s size 6, while a J5 is a men’s 5/women’s 7?

More anecdotally, I typically wear a men’s 7 to 7.5 size sneaker, but, due to the oversized nature of Crocs, I can comfortably sport a size men’s 6 or a J6. Obviously, if you take this route, you’re going to be missing out on the exclusive removable Jibbitz, but for grown-up fans with smaller feet, it’s an alternative to the platforms.

Those Platform Clogs have a big ol’ chunky heel!

Whether you’re a longtime Crocs fan or a potential new convert, both pairs are an excellent pick-up. Plus, if the purchase price is a bit too steep or demand for your preferred size outstrips supply, the Animal Crossing Jibbitz are a fine way to decorate your existing clogs.

The Crocs x Animal Crossing collection is available tomorrow, August 26. Orders over $49.99 receive free shipping at Crocs.com, and all orders qualify for free returns.
