As school ends, people start focusing on Summer, and fewer books come out. July and August will have way more to offer. Nevertheless, these three are worth a read!
Let’s start with picture books:
Becoming Boba by Joanna Ho (Author), Amber Ren (Illustrator)
This is a lovely take on a trendy topic: bubble tea! Told as a parable of mixed race and the importance of new customs, it tells the story of Mindy, a new addition to Milk Tea Town.
Mindy is different from the classic milk tea flavors, she shines with her green, white, and red colors. But she is worried about fitting in, and that is why she wants to know about her ancestors… and her search will lead her to uncover a story of a family that chose to defy tradition in order to be together.
The best thing is the illustrations, because they are all Kawaii in their cuteness and varied enough to entertain anybody.
Becoming Boba is on sale since June 03, 2025.

Up next, what would happen if a pet got lost into the wild?
In the Wild by Zadie Smith (Author), Nick Laird (Author), Magenta Fox (Illustrator)
There once was a judo-suit-wearing hamster named Maud, who lived happily with his human family and other pets inside a home, that is, you might have guessed, indoors.
He was very used to his life as a pet, but Kit, her owner, will go out to her first camping site, and Maud decides to tag along!
Soon, he will find a hedgehog and start an adventure into the wild, where even eagles might be lurking! Luckily, this hamster knows some signature moves.
In the Wild is on sale since June 10, 2025.

Finally, Snoopy!
Peanuts: Snoopy and the Red Baron by Charles M. Schulz (Author)
The algorithm on my FB page has caught on with the fact that I love comic strips, and is constantly showing me Calvin and Hobbes and Peanuts strips, something I am pleased about, because there is a ton of good stuff in them.
One of such good things is Snoopy in his guise as Ace Pilot. In this graphic novel format, we get to see Snoopy enlarged, each vignette is a full page, and thus this adventure gains in dramatic symbolism and is still really an easy and sensational read.
Ace Pilot is scouring the air on his famous Sopwith Camel, ready to challenge the infamous Red Baron in his more than infamous Fokker Triplane.
But he is struck down! Oh no! How to pass the enemy lines and reach safety?
Snoopy plays this game with his whole heart, and it is a wonder to watch.
The book was originally published back in 1966 by Fawcett World Library.
Peanuts: Snoopy and the Red Baron is on sale since June 03, 2025.
